Historic Yampa
The town of Yampa was incorporated on April 17, 1906. Named for the
locally abundant yampa plant, it sits 7,880 feet above sea level.
Beginning as a small community, the historic
Antlers Cafe & Bar was a popular stop for locals and visitors
alike on their travels. The
Boor-Redmond Ranch helped open up Routt County to farming and
ranching and it is still in use today.

To this day, it has not lost the old west flavor with cattle drives still taking place. Touted as the gateway to the Flat Top Mountains and Wilderness Area, it is home to a number of outfitters who will take you to some of the best fishing and hunting you will ever experience. Yampa has ranching, timber, mining, tourism and their associated industries.
